10 on Thursday???

A few of my fellow bloggers do 10 on Tuesday (which I admit flows better off the tongue), but I'm always late, so here's my 10 on Thursday.

1. I've been having a tough time at work. Last Friday they fired my friend/super.supervisor (she was my supervisior's supervisor) and I'm begining to remember (like i ever forgot) why I hate "corporate" america and miss being my own "boss".
My new dept. head is not a good man. I think because I spend 8hrs here my physique is being affected in a negative way.
2. I've decided that I don't take being-told-what-to-do, well.
3. I really need to finish up some of the projects around the house. Seriously most of them are 98% finished. That last little 2% is starting to drive me crazy. ;-)
4. I should have tried to de-lintify (like that?) the black shirt that I have on today. Seriously, unkempt isn't something I do well. My theory is that no matter what I feel like on the inside, I should present a half-way put together front. hehehe
5. In theory I told myself that I wouldn't get on the internet while at work, but who was I kidding. This IS my sanity.
6. I think God's in the midst of doing some serious work on me. I haven't felt like my "normal" self lately and I can only determine that I'm undergoing some "construction" I'm anxious to see how I evolve...
7. Big yea - FL offers driving school ON-LINE! Really! So earlier this week I completed one section and fell asleep and my loving husband finished my course for me. This is probably not how they wanted it done, so shhhhh, don't tell. ;-)
8. There's a Seafood Festival going on in a neighboring city that I'm really excited about. Food and art vendors! YEA! Most of the art will probably be "beachy" (think peach and seafoam, starfish and boats), but hey a girl's gotta get her kicks wherever she can find them!
9. Kj and I have seperate weekend plans (he's headed to visit some friends in town from philly and I had precommitted myself to go to a ladies day outing with another sister from church...). I'm planning on doing some serious cleaning and finishing the projects mentioned in #3. Plus I've recorded most of the shows I watch and I'm going to use Saturday to get caught up on them. I may try my hand at some gardening, or making some curtains, plus I've got a few paintings I want to do, and a shower curtain to spruce up... Yep, I've got plans!
10. Trying to end on a postive note: Rachel Ray and I have been kicking some dinner butt! We've had Margerita Pizza-dillas, Leeky Chicken, Spagetti al Ceci (with chickpeas), and Canadian Benny's. All have been extremely successful and I'll be passing those recipes on to those interested (I heard you Tericka, I heard you! hehehe).

Happy Thursday All.
I promise that the next 10 on Thursday won't be as whiny! I guess it's kind of unfair to use my blog as therapy, but you all are an awesome group and I think you'll let me wallow this time without too much reprimanding. ;-)
Miss you my girls!

I'm sorry you're in a funk!! And I'm sorry they fired your friend. Work blows when that happens. When they fired Michael here I thought I was going to quit, too. We need to start that Pottery 4 U, girlie, that way little Dixon can run around the shop while we make artsy little projects. Let me know when you want to get started on that... ;)

XOXO

Be expecting that call! Just gotta get out of FL or get you into FL. Little Dixon could be one of those sunkissed babies we see in summer commercials.... hummm....
Thanks girlie, that makes me feel better. I felt the same way after they let go of Sandy. I thought I was crazy, but I thought, screw this job, unemployment had soooo much appeal on Monday morning. And then my car started making a funny noise and I realized that quiting before lunch was not an option... sigh.
lots of love!

According to everyone's post, we all will be self-employed soon!!! Pottery 4 U sounds cute. May I place an order for some over-sized plates and coffee mugs?

Colleen, I recommend to get a head start on the self-employment and save yourself on the daycare costs (here's the math: {52 wks x 5 years + 3 summer months b4 kindergarten} then multiply by cost of daycare...) you have paid out a year's salary.

Roz, you can whine all you want. Better to vent to us than on one of your co-workers. And another silver-lining to your day can be that tomorrow is Friday!!!! Hope everyone is having a great day!!! (or a better one...)

I love your 10 on Thursday!! I think that I appreciate the realism that you have. Some times life just has its rough spots. It does for all of us and its always nice to know that you aren't alone or crazy. And my Rossalynn, you are neither alone OR crazy!!
It always sucks when work isn't going well but it will get better. And we are all here to listen and support you until it does.

And YEA!!! for festivals:)
I love you with all I got, girlie!!

I totally know how you feel, I was bummed when I found out that they were doing cuts and some people that I knew got cut. Its not a good feeling. Imagine how you feel if you have to be the person to fire someone. I cried. I don't know how I will fit into the equation of being self employed but its coming. Countdown starts now. Maybe Colleen will let me be her nanny, based on Terickas math looks like good pay.
